Message Be mentioned as the "most exotic, rare, elusive, beautiful, and insanely powerful car of the 1990s era". =)

Neither one would. You have to realize, the MAJORITY of the world isn't going to limit that statement to cars under 50K for one. Second, the rare factor means a lot when it's REALLY rare...which compared to the Z it is, but to other "remembered" cars of decades ago, it's not. As for beautiful...well that's all opinion. I love both cars for different reasons, but there's only two main groups of people that consistently claim the Supra has superior all around looks. 1) the people that own them 2) the crowds of Honda, Eclipse, etc owners that look WAY up to Supras as elusive, supercars. I write for 2 magazines and I've read every article in all the big ones for a decade. I've cover shows, events and drags...I hear what the masses say a lot better than some sheltered online environment. The media and 7 years of articles, readers mail, websites, etc just don't give the Supra it's justice in the looks department...again, it's all opinion, but majority opinion is a thumbs down overall :(

And as for powerful...it sure as hell is and can be even moreso! But that goes back to the 50K thing as people aren't going to sit down and go "hmmm, the Supra was one hell of a bank-for-the-buck car in the 90's". Especially since they ARE so rare...This also gets to be very hard considering the economy import cars are pulling a greater number of better times overall (drag). A Supra (or a Z for that matter) can spank them all up and down the court in other fields combined, but people remember the "first 9 second Honda" way more than anything else :(

The Japanese Supercars will all be forgotten except to those that experienced them or always lusted after one but never managed to get one. Other than that, we're screwed :) At least WE know about our cars and get to enjoy them...screw everyone else!

I was planning on article on something similar to this...but it's on the backburner for a while pending the 2001 Auto shows =)

The world's two biggest mysteries: The meaning of life and fitting the Howe radiator into the Z...
